Nondiscrimination Policy

stop discrimination

Stepping Out Ministries adheres to a strict policy of nondiscrimination. SOM has found this to be an essential part of its program model.

"As a public charity, Stepping Out Ministries does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, criminal history, or age in admission to, participation in, or receipt of the services and benefits under any of its programs and activities, whether carried out by Stepping Out Ministries directly or through a contractor or any other entity with which Stepping Out Ministries arranges to carry out its programs and activities."

Transitional Housing

Comprehensive transitional housing services providing:

  • Safe and Drug Free Housing
  • Full Time On-Site Staff
  • Help Finding Employment
  • Case Management
  • Food, Clothing, and Hygeine Supplies

Housing is both shared and private living. Restrooms, kitchen, and living rooms are all shared.

The transitional housing program is a structured environment that strives to be as least institution like as possible while providing a good balance of structure to help keep the individual focused and on track. Compliance with all supervision requirements is mandated, and updates are sent to supervising officers as needed or requested.

Long-Term Housing

Criminal history can have a profoundly negative effect on an individuals ability to secure stable long-term housing. SOM provides non-profit long-term housing to graduates of our transitional housing program.

  • SOM graduates only
  • Utilities are included in the rental amount.
  • Drug and alcohol free.
  • Private rooms, but shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.

If you are a landlord and have property you think might be suitable for our long-term housing program, please send and e-mail to:

God calls us to reach out to those that are hurting and that includes those in prison. Stepping Out Ministries is fulfilling that call in that it not only provides support for those still incarcerated but also for those who have been released and looking for an opportunity to get a fresh start with their lives. Because of Stepping Out Ministries’ structure, not only is the ex-inmate safe but society as well. I am honored to be a part of this program and will continue to partner with those currently involved (and those to come) in expanding this ministry to be Christ’s hands extended to those who need to feel the touch of Christ in their lives.
